Hiroshima (Hurricane Resistant Homes)

August 6, 1945

Hiroshima: Fat Man, Or Fat Boy an atomic bomb drops from a US B-52 bomber at approximately 8:14 am. This first time ever used atomic weapon devastates Hiroshima, and completely flattens everything within at least a ten mile radius of ground zero. You can get the full story at: www.companysj.com/v231/august6.htm You may ask, what does this have to do with Hurricane Resistant Homes. This has everything to do with Hurricane Resistant Homes. Please review these photos:

These are (Hurricane Resistant Homes)

Concrete homes (Hurricane Resistant Homes) are the only thing left standing after an attack with an Atomic bomb. Everything else has been completely flattened. All wooden homes were either burned or blown away from the blast.

Wooden homes could not possibly stand chance with such high winds and high temperatures.
It is clearly evident that concrete made all of the difference in the world.

  2. You may follow these tips to build hurricane resistant modular homes:
    • Bring all non-not permanent fixtures that could potentially float outside, inside your home (Think: garbage cans, outdoor furniture, etc)
    • If you already have them, close your storm shutters.
    • Have a portable generator (only to be used outdoors) ready if you are experiencing a power loss
    • Have a supply of the following items: non-perishable food items that are simple to prepare (make sure to include plenty of water), batteries, medication, extra cash, cellphone with chargers, blankets battery powered radio, first-aid kit and multi-purpose tools
